We have synthesized a novel trinitrofluorene–C60 dyads bearing a flexible polyether chain. There is no interaction in their ground states and is proven the existence of a charge-transfer complex between the trinitrofluorene moieties and N-ethylcarbazol. Tetrahedron 62 (2006) 2102–2109
